He's going commando in the new comics He has forsaken underwear? And exactly how does the reader know this?

I do agree that Superman in any kind of armor is redundant. Unless, somehow it is protection against magic and/or kryptonite.

Why does Superman wear clothes at all? He doesn't need protection against the elements. What's going to happen if he doesn't? Will they arrest him? Good luck with that!

He IS Superman. He wears cloths so we men don't feel inferior.

He has to wear a shirt so that we don't figure out he's really just Prince Adam with a tan

I believe it's modesty and a good upbringing that keep him clothed.

His upbringing should have him in flannel, overalls, and a straw hat. Or maybe a john deere hat. Maybe.

This is why I hate Superman:

That's awesome. Wonderwoman's rope has got to be one of the silliest accessories in the comic canon.
DC needs a Hulk like character to give superman a run for his money!

Wonder Woman's roots are in cheesecake fetishism, so the lasso thing is a cheeky bondage device. That's probably also the reason they can't let it go. Invisible jet? Not sexy. Getting tied up by an amazon and forced to tell the truth? Sexy.
I mean, if you're into that sort of thing...

So it's confirmed. The new Superman is anti-underpants. But that's consistent with the rebooted DCU's Superman costume, so whatever. It also looks pretty cool, so I'm feeling good about this new movie.

I don't know, I liked the red highlight of the underpants. It breaks up the vast monotony of blue and somehow makes him feel less naked than this fellow.

I agree with that. Taking away the undies in an attempt to make the costume less ludicrous is itself a ludicrous act. And this suit does seem to accentuate the package more, which I do not support.

I also feel that his head looks too small for his body. That's because they've put him in all this dirty dark blue which fades off and actually minimizes his body (like wearing black makes you look skinny) which red undies would have stopped.
