That's an interesting choice. There are a lot of good people in this movie. I just hope they take a note from Captain America and stay close to the classic spirit of the character. Superman's world can be modernized, but he doesn't need to be.

I was just about to post that pic myself. I'm not sure I like the look of this superman. In my mind (feeble though it is) Superman has a purity to him. This guy looks kind of dark. I really hope they don't go that way with the movie, I think that would be a huge mistake.

The only way I will ever see a Superman movie again is if they make Red Son into a movie.

I don't know Red Son, but I will see any Superman movie they make unless they ruin the character. Nolan and Goyer may want the costume to be more believable, but they don't want to reinvent the character. Zack Snyder will also certainly want him to be rippling and cool (he's sure shiny enough in this picture), but he's remained thematically faithful to the source material in his other adaptations. I'm hoping this will be a good way to bring Superman to a mass audience without losing the heart of the character.
But I have one very important question: Underpants or no underpants? I think they're dodging the issue in this pic.

I swear it was the costume not the bulge I was thinking about. Remember that ridiculous rumour about Brandon Routh's oversized bulge, which we assumed was "leaked" by "a Brandon Routh-shaped informant"? Maybe they're trying to avoid that nonsense. They know people like Gilbert will be looking over the pictures very closely.

I'm more concerned in Superman's new look than I probably should be. He's going commando in the new comics, which is fine, but he has this Marvelesque metal armor that makes no sense to me. This new screen Superman also has Captain America-stlye scaled armor, so I'm just curious if he's turning his back on his circus strongman roots too.

Isn't he "the man of steel"? What does he want with armour? I guess it's special high-tech armour, otherwise he'd be tougher than it anyway.
