I guess they're trying to step away from that classic look. I'm getting the impression that because Singer went too far in paying homage to that classic Superman, then these guys have decided to go the other way with it and completely abandon the classic Superman. Both concepts are too extreme. What you need is a classic Superman in a modern world. Doesn't Catwoman wear goggles in the comics now? (incidentally, while doing an image search for the above picture, I was horrified to find this pic of a kids' halloween costume. Holy crap)

Sure, whatever, do you find goggles sexy? They're so uncomfortable! But I see why they'd be useful to Catwoman.

I'm sure they give her the ability to see in the night, probably with little computer graphics that tell her useful tidbits of info (target distance, armed/unarmed, etc.).

Where do bad guys order stuff like that? They did a decent job in the first of the new batmans explaining how he got his gear.

I would guess it's like building your own small business, first you get some money then you buy some little things then you make more money then you get more stuff that enables you to have even more money then you rob the bat-cave.

Went and saw this yesterday. It was a damn good story for the most part. I have a few nit-picks, but overall enjoyed the film. I'll leave it to Sean to write a more thorough review of the movie (as he is much better at that than I), but I will say that it is a fitting conclusion?/addition? to the current Batman storyline.

I liked the ending. In fact I liked it better than most of what's happened in the films so far. Like you I had some nitpicks but overall felt it was a good conclusion (ish) to the story.

I wonder if the colorado tragedy will affect the box office at all? I'm certain it will, the key question in my mind is will the change be quantifiable? I didn't find out about the shooting until ~12:30 on Friday. I was in the theater with a large number of people at 4:30. When I left at ~7:30, there was a line for the 8:00 show. So from my point of view, it didn't seem to have much of an effect. But this is just one theater and highly anecdotal.

Well I was at the theater last night. I wanted to see batman but the lines were around the corner of the building, so we went to spiderman instead (which is now pushed to the very back in the smallest room in the theater). So from what I can tell it's making no difference.
No more costumes in theaters though, at least at AMC. That's gonna be a real bummer to the star wars nerds when the next 3d movie comes.

also, I think I'll feel a little weird when I do get to see it. I felt the same way in the 2nd batman movie cause of heath ledger. These movies have a strange shadow that hangs over them.

I liked it. I don't connect the movie to the tragedy any more than I did with the last one. I have some opinions about the actual movie that I'd like to filter through other viewpoints, which is why I really want to do a show on this. This movie bears examination.

Funny. Didn't really work on the real Bane though.
