I really enjoyed the pilot episode of this show, but I kind of wish the showrunners had gotten their way and just done a procedural cop show set in Gotham. Apparently the network wanted them to feature "origin" stories/random appearances of known characters, so every third person they run into is a supervillain in the making. I'm excited that Zsasz (?) and Professor Pyg will be in it, because they're perfectly creepy baddies for the cops to run into. I hope they introduce some original villains for Gordon to fight, because if all he does is face off against future Batman villains in an ongoing story stalemate that can only end when Batman hits the scene, then he's going to come off as pretty useless to the mythos. He needs some bad guys he can take down on his own. I also love Ben Mackenzie and Donal Logue, and the kid who play Cobblepot is great. Off to a good start, all in all.
