As you may or may not know, the director's cut of the Wicker Man is being released very soon. I found this groovy little site posted on the comments section of an "Aint it cool news" article on it. It relates a fan's visit to the sight of the filming of the movie. It would be a great place to go Adventuring, for anyone near there. The other great thing about this website is the weird little tune playing in the background. Or is that just me? www.wickermanpilgrim.com/anwoth.html

I love that movie and am waiting ever so patiently for the new release. I'd love to visit these sites, but have to hit the lottery first (or invent something). I missed the music you referenced. My quicktime pluggin kept crashing. I'll check back later to see if I can catch it.

Wow! I had NO idea that the movie that scared me so much as a kid was just a cut up version of the original intended! I just read the Wikipedia entry on this and the most exciting part says, "In June 2007, Christopher Lee discussed the lost original cut of the film. "I still believe it exists somewhere, in cans, with no name. I still believe that. But nobody's ever seen it since, so we couldn't re-cut it, re-edit it, which was what I wanted to do. It would have been ten times as good."[21] European distributors of the film Studiocanal began a Facebook campaign in 2013 to find missing material, which culminated in the discovery of a 92-minute 35mm print at the Harvard Film Archive. Robin Hardy reported in July 2013[22] that Studiocanal intended to restore and release the most complete version possible of the film. Rialto Pictures announced that they were to release the new digital restoration in U.S. cinemas on 27 September 2013.[23]" Earlier in this entry it says Christopher Lee feels this is his best role, in his best movie! I'm totally excited now!!! Edit: Seriously. This may be the moment I decide to BUY a movie, and/or a blue ray player, and/or a DVD player, and/or a TV!

Sounds awesome. I always liked that movie. Especially the Nick Cage version.

Yeah, I heard/read that interview with Christopher about the film (I don't remember which because I hear his voice in my head but that could just be my head making it up, like our brains do) and that made me really long to see the original. I'm quite excited about it now. I first saw the theatrical cut late one night when they played both of them back to back. I had to watch to the wee smalls to get to the earlier movie, but was really glad I did after hearing about it on this very little show. I wanted to see the naked dancing pagans. Later I was talking to my brother and he's said he'd been watching too that night, but thought the second Wicker Man in the tv guide was a misprint and didn't stay up to see the original version. He was pretty disappointed. Probably about the naked dancing pagans.

Without the naked dancing pagans, I'm not on board. That's why I don't love the Nick Cage version.

I wasn't aware it was coming to US theaters. I thought it was just the UK theaters. SWEET!!! If it is near me, I'll have to see it on the big screen.
Just for the record, I absolutely abhor the Cage version. It is an abomination.

You can still punch the women, as long as they're naked dancing pagan women, I'm on board.

Yeah, the movie's pretty empty without naked pagans.
