I'm currently in the most depressed mood of my life.
SO, I decided to (re) watch, "The Sound of Insects: Record of a Mummy". It's billed as Documentary from 2009, according to IMDB, who gives it a 7/10.
WARNING: This movie can be seen as alternately dark and/ or beautiful, so be warned that this movie can cause great catharsis, or make you feel pretty fucking heavy.
The movie is the reading of the suicide journal of an unidentified protagonist who attempts to end his life through starvation in a secluded wetland wilderness.
The unidentified man never says who he is, why he is committing suicide, never whines or complains about his life. We never hear about any abusive mothers, lost loves, uncaring societies, etc... We are simply treated to a daily record of some lost soul's attempt to leave this planet as quietly and unobtrusively as he apparently lived.
Its on Netflix.
Also, when finished, remember that the 2009 - 2011 seasons of "Archer" are also on Netflix. They may help with the aftermath once you've drunk up all the liquor and eaten all the chocolate.

I have to check this one out; never heard of it. I spent all day Sunday watching the new season of Arrested Development on Netflix, so I might be due for something heavy.

Damn Sean. I have been hot for Jason Bateman since Silver Spoons. Ricky Schroeder AND Jason Bateman? Wow. That was always fuel for the fourth grade confessional. Sorry Father Chris. I will have to cheer myself up and Flix some Arrested Dev or Mansome.

Bleak but beautiful. Sort of the Albert Camus version of "Walden". I thought the film choices overpowered the narration sometimes though. They were trying too hard to be artsy.
I am currently watching "The Giant Mechanical Man" to offset the depressingness, so hopefully that works out okay.

Mission accomplished on The Giant Mechanical Man. That movie was really sweet and nice, so a good counter for the depressingness of the Sound of Insects.
