Sean, Greg, Brooks and Andrew return to continue their discussion of the Disney Star Wars purchase. What could this mean for Indiana Jones? Could an Indy reboot be in our future? And what a Star Wars theme park? Could EPCOT become Star Wars Land? And what's up with Netflix? Why is everything always on Very Long Wait now? Episode 170

Just listened to this episode. You are correct that Netflix is moving away from DVD but not because of BluRay. My friend works at Netflix as a prototyper and he admitted that they're focusing more on streaming.

That makes no sense to me, because they can't compete at the level they want to; they'll never be able to offer the titles they can offer with DVD and Blu Ray. I have no patience for people who hold their own success in contempt. I'm down to 1 disc at a time with Blu Ray. If I still can't get the movies I want I'll drop the discs and stick with Redbox. At least Redbox doesn't think they're better than me.

I don't know, I don't ask about what the company's doing that often because I get the feeling he gets tired of defending Netflix from people when usually it's the distributor's fault.

Oh well, all things have their time. This show used to practically be a commercial for Netflix, now I'm about to drop them in disgust. Might make a difference if they actually wanted my business; not sure I understand their corporate road map: Step 1: Lose all customers. Step 2: (TO BE DETERMINED). Step 3.... profit!
It was fun while it lasted, Netflix. I'm just happy something has made me excited about Star Wars again. I don't need it all.

It's really the studios who are to blame for thinking they can/should raise their rates by enormous amounts.
Where netflix itself screwed up is splitting their streaming and dvd services into two separate choices with their own fees. It sort of compels you to choose and that kind of made me realize that i'm only mildly satisfied with each one.

I am not mildly satisfied, Netflix. To make up for the fact that your streaming is second-rate you decided to tank it on DVD's too? Bold strategy.

I just figured out the best Christmas gift for Sean. Netflix toilet paper.
