Yeah, and I don't even know where the film is. I'll probably just do a VHS capture and be done with it. A DVD would still be nice, especially with Wilson's behind the scenes documentary. I could do a VHS capture of that too.

That was unused film we purchased for the Bug but didn't end up needing. And I believe I finally donated that to Wilson for a project.

So when they transferred the film for editing what process did they use? Did they telecine it to videotape? Or straight to a digital file? That was early days in digital so I kind of doubt that. What ever happened to the raw??

Manlove might have it. I could have it in a box somewhere. I want to say I had the film and he had the beta master (the film was transferred to beta, originally). Then he gave us the master and I gave it to Greg and that's the end of that forever. I should have just paid to have the beta transferred when I had the chance.

well let's mount a campaign to get it back from greg. It can't be that hard, surely?

A. You never gave me any film. You said you would, but it was another of your empty promises that make me so sad.
B. I told you I would transfer that Beta for you way back then, but (just like with the Gilberto Campaign video) you insisted Greg had to be involved. Another case of you not listening to me. I hope you are pleased with yourself.

Also, I've "smited" you. I hate that it has come to this.

I'm pretty sure I've got a capture of the vhs already, I'll look for it
edit - in fact I had the tape at one time, before greg got it I think? I remember getting the tv guys at my old job to capture it, I still have that file, I'll dig it up and see how it looks

Me and Wilson were just talking about that. I'm sure that original beta capture would be sufficient, because it's unlikely we'll ever liberate the beta master from Greg.

I think the straight capture is better. The other one looks kind of slowmo.

cool, I'm not sure I did that second one right, I don't really know what I'm doing with that stuff. Maybe Wilson does.
How do you want me to get the file to you? It's about a gig and a half. I could convert it to a dvd ready mpg and see how big that is maybe.
edit: I converted them to dvd ready files and put them in my folder on the tamd mediafire. I had to split them with a little program called Gsplit or something like that, it has a little exe I put on there that rejoins them. Let me know if it doesn't work.

Back onto the topic of Prometheus, Red Letter Media have had a go at it. I'll try to link to it here but knowing my track record with these things you'll probably have to go find it for yourselves on youtube.
