I don't know where the toys thread went, if there ever was one, but something has popped up in the last month that has Ben and I in a total nerdgasm of joyful joyness. Lord of the Rings Lego. thelordoftherings.lego.com/en-us/default.aspxThe websites have all the pictures and things, but better yet has a bunch of little videos made by the designers of the lego who talk us through each of the playsets and why they designed it and any cool features it has, and give us some demonstrations of how we're meant to play with it. They all have adorable European accents too, which makes it so much more fun. We were so pleased to see that the people designing this lego were obviously just as big nerds as we were about both lego and LOTR. As I may have mentioned before, I didn't have loads of toys when I was little, but what I loved more than anything was playing with my brothers' toys, mostly his mecchano and lego. This is the best part about having a geek boyfriend, he loves this stuff too so when LOTR Lego finally comes to Australia it's definately going to be time to do some indulging. We may even make some LOTR lego movies, who knows, they may even end up on the forum.

Yeah, that cave troll is awesome. I bought one of those playskool Darth Vaders at the vintage toy store this weekend. They're so much cooler than the regular figures. I also got the alien newscaster from Futurama (on the left). These little Futurama figures are so cute; I want the Bender.

Update; I thought this would take ages to get to Australia but lo and behold I walked into Target this morning and there they were on sale! I bought Gandalf and his horse, he was the cheapest for $18, but you're right it's expensive, cave troll set is $120 over here. Not, I might add, as expensive as Jabba's place sitting next to it for $150. My favourite is the Shealob set though, with Frodo's little scared face. I'll have to put this all on layby for Christmas. I have to add too that when I was in the eisle all excited cos it's lord of the rings I did get a couple of sideways glances from a couple with a little kid. They don't know I don't have a kid at home or a nephew or something! Whatever.
