G.I. Joe Retaliation looks fun in this trailer, I daresay it looks cooler than the first which was ok but not great (red ninjas! a nice treat for fans of the orig comic). Imagine my surprise when I read that though it was originally scheduled to hit theaters this month it has now been postponed all the way back to March 29, 2013. Wha?!?!!
A whole year?? I call shenanigans...

The official spin is that they're re-tweaking it to put it out in 3-D, but it looks like they're running scared from this year's crop of summer blockbusters. Plus the re-shoots for the 3-D re-do suggest that maybe test audiences weren't thrilled with this one either. A sequel whose sole advertising point is the death of everyone involved in the original is already starting out on shaky ground.

Yeah I remain dubious. It's hard to believe they "decided" to do 3D that late in the game. Most movies don't reshoot for 3D they just do it in post (for better or worse). I think you're right about the test audiences, I bet they don't kill Duke this time around. There was nothing special about the characters as they are shown in the first one but I would hate for the characters themselves to die. I wonder why they planned from the start to not use any of the original characters (original as in from the first movie)

It seems like a ripoff of GI Joe: Resolute - just go hardcore and kill everybody. Not hard to do when everyone from the first movie sucked. Except Rachel Nichols, who is always awesome. It was the outfit that sucked.  |

It was the outfit that sucked. While Rachel Nichols certainly has some...um..appealing assets... I don't like her as an actress. At least not in Joe or Conan. Just my opinion. It's funny they were able to get bigger stars for the 2nd one than the first. And where are the girls? Scarlett and Baroness were all over the first one. |

I don't think it's fair to blame Rachel Nichols for movies that aren't good. She's not the one who made them not good. The dude who played Conan was awesome too. It was the story that didn't deliver. Joe 2 brings in new hotties: Adrian Palicki (of the failed Wonder Woman pilot) as Lady Jaye.   And Elodie Yung as Jinx.   |
