Ben suggested this one to me, and I'm not sure which side I'm coming down on. I've been looking up some specs; AT-AT comes in at 22.5 metres, but Oliphant figures vary "accounts found in both the Red Book of Westmarch and in other scrolls suggest that they stood between fifty and one hundred feet tall (although official top trumps suggest a height of around 35 feet)," I converted that, which leaves out Mumakil anywhere from 10 metres up to 30 metres... though clearly the ones in the movies are the 30 metres guys. Now the Oliphant probably has better manouverability, but no laser canons. But it has riders swarming all over it who could quite easily scramble onto the AT-AT... which is also manned. I guess it would depend on the size of the Mumakil, one that's way taller than the AT-AT could crush it down, but a smaller one may have trouble. It could probably take out a leg though. What do you guys think?

If the AT AT weren't armored I'd go Oliphant all the way. But you must also consider that the AT AT can carry a lot of Stormtroopers and they can carry a lot of blasters. I'd have to give the edge to the AT AT purely based on the technological advantage.

There may be a terrain that would favor the Oliphant, but in most cases, I have to go with the tech. Now if the Ewoks were using Oliphants, that would be an elephant of a different color.

I go with At-AT, although the oliphant would have the dexterity to possibly try and trip it, which we've found is the AT-AT's fatal weakness.
Here's the real question: Could Legolas take down an AT-AT?

It's funny you ask that about Legolas, because we were watching how Luke takes down the AT-AT how similar it is to Legolas' little hero moment with the Oliphant. He could possibly do it, but I reckon he'd probably be having to get all up inside the AT-AT and kill everyone individually, to keep the kill count up, and he'd take an hour to do it and by that stage the battle would be over.

I would say if Legolas had a lightsaber, then he's definitely got the skills.
In all serious I assume that the Legolas Oliphant kill is pretty much an homage to the Luke AT-AT takedown.
