Of course, there's a shot of a chick running around in her panties, all sweaty. First thing I do when there's aliens is strip off to my panties. No this looks cool, I'm always suspicious in movies when a bunch of dewy-eyed archaologists declare that the aliens are sending us messages of peace and love. It's an invitation, of course, it has to be. Why? Cos it's a picture of a dude and some stars! Stars are pretty, everyone knows that!

What I like about this is that it's a tie-in to the Alien franchise but they're not banking on the name. This one might actually be worthwhile.

A friend of mine told me that there were no xenomorphs in this flick. If so, I really like the idea. Not only are they not banking on the name; but they are not banking on the one constant between each of the previous films. This is the sort of film making that can actually draw me to the theater.

That's cool. What I really like is that it addresses something from the very first movie: Which is what is that weird-looking alien sarcophagus thing they find in the ship? That is the obvious avenue for a sequel that they never touched! Looks like that's what this whole movie is about. And that makes this better than just some stupid prequel.

It looks pretty awesome. One thing that bugs me: this movie takes place before the others, right? And yet the technology looks much more advanced. This happens all the time in prequels. I guess I could have put that into the pet peeves thread.
Also, if a huge ship of aliens is headed toward earth why do the humans not know anything about the aliens in alien? I guess they'll explain that in the movie. Looks really pretty so far. I'm excited about it.

I thought one of the subtle hints in one of the Alien sequels was that The Company knew that the Aliens were there and intended for the Nostromo to encounter them on their return home. It's been a while since I've seen any of the sequels, so I could have mixed something up.

They did seem to suggest the company knew about them, but I'm not sure if they meant before or after the Nostromo discovered them. I kind of thought that in the 50 years after that the company became aware of them, but who knows? It was all a bunch of conspiracy stuff. But the fact that another race had already encountered them opens up all kinds of possibilities. Hopefully this one will be interesting.
