Actually the post about the Wraith reminded me of this. This movie came out in the 90 and starred Seth Green and Alfonso Ribeiro. It was also called Ticks.
"Teens camping in a northern California retreat are terrorized by mutant insects created by evil, polluting pot farmers, what will throw them into a terrifying fight for their lives."

I remember catch that flick on SciFi back in the day. It has the other "Bosom Buddy" in it, Peter Scolari.

I've seen this, but I don't really remember it. That's Ami Dolenz in there too. She's ruined almost as many franchises as Kari Wuhrer. God bless Clint Howard. They use one of his scenes as, like, 40% of the trailer.
Tony Randel, the director, also did the second Hellraiser movie. That one didn't work but it was the only one of the sequels that came close. He also did one of the Amityville sequels and some Power Rangers too, according to IMDB. He's kind of a Johnny Drama director. He did the live action Fist of the North Star, though, which had some awesome Gary Daniels fight scenes in it.
