I picked up a whole bunch of graphic novels when I went to the Alternative Press Expo and earlier when Jon (jubei) and I went to London. We ended up going to Forbidden Planet which is London's biggest scifi/comic store. For the past few months I've been focusing on comic memoirs or comic journalism. I just finished "How to Understand Israel in 60 Days or Less" which is about one woman's experience on a heritage tour in Israel. Now I'm reading Joe Sacco's book on Gorazde, Bosnia. I love Joe Sacco because of the topics he grapples with. He is clearly biased in some books (as in the ones he discusses Palestine/Israel) but he also includes voices that often times gets lost in the discussion. Plus his drawings are amazing:

I recently read League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and my first thought was that they should have made this into a movie. I mean, what I was reading. I don't really understand what happened in the actual movie, it really had nothing to do with anything, but I would have liked to see a movie of the actual events and characters in the comics. That was cool.

That's why Alan Moore's so pissed off about adaptations. Although to be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of the comic either.
Been reading a lot of Grant Morrison lately (since Supergods). All-Star Superman is a great book (that got made into a decent animated movie). I'm also reading The Invisibles, one of his earlier series.
I keep trying to work on my drawing. I would dearly love to create a graphic novel, but all my efforts so far have kinda died out. I think I might try to make "The Strange" into a graphic (for those who read about that in the Dreams section). I've been sketching a lot. I really would like to create a comic hero.

Where are the adventures of Aquamarine? I'd read that.

I tried reading The Invisibles but it had to many weird things going on so I just gave up on it.
I love League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, well, at least the first two books and the Black Dossier. LoEG:1910 is just useless. I haven't read the latest one (1967). I just love the weirdness at the end of the Black Dossier, and I love that it came with 3d glasses.

Early Morrison is weirder in general, and he was trying to be a psychedelic spy story in this one, so it's even weirder than normal. I may get some more of it, but I will sample some of his other stuff first. I want to check out his JLA stuff.
As for Aquamarine, I might do something with that (I have a script already), but I don't want to do a spoof. I want to create a straightforward superhero story.
