Tom Atkins hasn't been getting his due lately, but he's that caliber of great character actor who has always elevated the genre. He has all the usual credits, appearing in 80's mainstay TV shows like TJ Hooker and The Fall Guy, but his horror credits alone make him a legend among Johnny Dramas: Creepshow, Maniac Cop, Two Evil Eyes, Halloween III, and for me his defining role was that of the detective in Night of the Creeps. He even lent his grittiness to the first Lethal Weapon film. He has everything and more that makes Johnny Dramas great, but you don't hear much about him, at least not as much as you should. Anyway, we haven't given this honor out in a while, so I can't think of anyone more deserving to bring the Johnny Drama Award out of retirement!
