I just went and saw this movie in the cinema as suggested, and had a very enjoyable experience. Not because it was scary, because it really wasn't (haven't been to bed yet though) but because we were with a really funny audience which screamed every time anything moved. I spent the whole time laughing at them. That's probably why I found nothing scary, because how can you be scared with all these teenaged boys behind you screaming and the teen girls in front screeching "it's going to move the ouiji board!". I personally thought a sheet moving a little wasn't that scary... but the people around me all lost their asses every time something happened. So funny. I think perhaps this movie may be better watched at home alone because then you can't get so distracted, and you're already at home alone... Also that boyfriend; what a tool. Deserved a haunting.

Yeah, he was a tool. I thought it was scary after I went to bed that night, but I wasn't sleeping in my own house.
Horror movies should be watched in the theater just for the audience experience. When the clown popped up in Zombieland the girl behind us lost her mind. She was afraid of clowns. It was awesome.

I know the ending has been criticised for being too hollywood but those people in the theatre lost their minds when it happened, they screamed for the whole thing, it was great. And I just watched the alternate ending and it wasn't that interesting. It sounds more interesting than it plays.

I have no doubt both endings are lame, but I still want to see the original. I guess there's always the DVD.

I just did a google video search and looked through them till I found one that worked. Wasn't difficult.

I really liked this movie, in part cause there have been some unexplained things happening in our house at night and after I watched this movie I thought about setting up a camera but then if it did record something, what then? I think I would rather not know whats going on , but anyway, I liked the subtle scarry things, moving doors, lights turning on, etc.

Yeah and in the movie, it seems to be the filming that makes the demon mad and escalates things. Did you watch it in the cinema? Did you experience the screaming teenaged girls going "The board moved!" "The door" "AHHHHHH" all through the movie? awesome. I had friends who didn't watch it in the cinema who found it boring, so perhaps it does make a difference.

I watched it at home, by myself, in the dark. We live in a rural area and sometimes have animals in our yard during the night and I kept hearing things outside. PLus our hous is 100 years old and makes weird noises...i'm getting freaked out right now...lets talk about something less scary, like Finding Nemo...

Yeah I know, my house is noisy too, plus I have a cat, so I often feel something breathing in my face in the middle of the night or biting me. That is definately the brilliance of this movie.

They are very large, and they do pop up suddenly and kidnap him. I think they're supposed to be a bit scary. I used to be scared of the tooth fairy. When I was little.
