Hi-ya guys, greetings from the Netherlands.
Just stumbled upon the TVAMD podcast about three weeks ago and I've been listening to quite a few now and enjoying them.
I have my own radio-show here and we also do some podcasts (in Dutch) about entertainment and pop-culture and lately I've been rallying some of my mates to listen to yours and maybe pick up some inspiration for our own pod-ramblings.
So I'll be checking out the forum and maybe add some input of my own once in a while.

Thanks and what is most amazingly amazing is that there seems to be less difference in cultural meaning between worldwide tv-shows, radio-shows and overall entertainment than say ten years ago.
I do believe we (the "western world" at least) do start to get an umbrella pop-culture with nice little subcultures underneath per country or region which I personally applaud.

I agree, as an Australian I've found very little difficulty imbibing TVAMD and their American view of pop culture... and any differences tend to be amusing rather than perplexing. Have you heard the episode where Sean tries to understand why I can't access some American websites and posits that there are "seperate interwebs"?

Hahaha no haven't heard that one. But yeah I hated that I couldn't watch Heroes on the NBC site (I believe it was NBC) because I was abroad and it was blocked for that reason. The BBC also has that which to me is ridiculous because especially the BBC aims for a larger audience than just the British. I guess those sites URL's are wwwepledgeallegiance.nbc.com and wwwedospeakdecentenglish.bbc.co.uk...and you're right, the differences are trivial but amusing. And their misconceptions about some marsupials I guess heheh

Greg is scared of Lynn's whole country based on his belief that a) the world is not a sphere and b) America is located directly in its center.
I'm so happy to have so many international listeners. It makes the world seem connected in a way that the media never used to admit. And as for inspiration, I've been telling people we're inspirational for years. Thanks for listening and thanks even more for chiming in. I'd listen to your show, but I'm an American and we barely speak our own language.

Thanks Sean!
I can't say I blame Greg for his view since America is so big and influential it might as well be the center. And the world is a SPHERE?? Hahaha you funny man... everyone knows it's a hyperbolic paraboloid, you know, pringles-shaped.
And as for the language thing... I'm still hoping my brother will bring home a Babel fish on his fishing sundays... so far no luck.
