What sort of budget you looking to spend? How much time to prepare?
Relatively cheap, zombies are always a crowd pleaser. For fun, you can always do a zombified version of someone famous or a favorite character.

minimum time and budget.
zombies are good, we do them all the time. also, costume has material on it. most female geek characters wear practically nothing. don't they get cold?
