From what I've read, the movie is part of a five year plan with Universal. In other words, he has time, and I'm a patient fan, especially since he will do this right.

I think he's previous work shows a real compatible sensibility. Plus I think he fought for the gig, so that must mean he thinks he's got a handle on it. I'm excited. This is going to be his masterpiece or it'll be the end of him.

At least he'll always have Pan's Labyrinth. That, I think, will be considered his masterpiece, if he doesn't make something superlatively better. That would be difficult though.

It is a very good movie. That's another reason I wonder about Frankenstein. Between that and the Hobbit, we may be watching him reach a saturation point. Like Batman Returns was for Tim Burton. When the studio says "do whatever you want", most directors just make crap.

Studio might say make whatever you want but Peter Jackson is producing the Hobbit. I know Kong was pretty bad but I reckon he'll be keeping an eye on things with the Hobbit, make sure it won't go too far south.

I hope so. He's getting spread a little thin.

I kept expecting Johnny Edgar Winter. Oh man, that brings back awesome memories of listening to classic rock radio in the 80's! Although the song that came to mind for me during this ep was Alice Cooper's "Feed My Frankenstein". What can I say ... I'm a Wayne's World child. ;D It's lucky for Greg he likes to watch TV and surf during the recordings. And damn it, I'm missing Brooks! But that was a really interesting and thoughtful discussion, Sean and Lynn. Well worth waiting for. And it almost makes me want to read the book ... which is saying a lot, as I'm ... like ... an anti-monster-fan. Hey! Stop throwing rocks at me! I have just as much right to be here as anyone. Boobs. (There, that oughta distract 'em.) ====================== Edited to add: I'm back with something better. " Timur Bekmambetov. THE CASEBOOK OF VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN!?" on AICN this morning.

I think that was the Andy Warhol present's director's strategy too
