I dreamed last night that the world broke apart until there was no ground beneath us at all. But the atmosphere held up so all the people still lived there, floating free with nothing but their own gravity holding them together. And humanity went on that way, everyone holding onto each other in a broad landscape of people with clasped hands.

I'm so tempted to ask "How did they scratch their arses?" But that would be mean. I often dream that I can float. I honestly don't think it would be as nice as it seems. The ground, after all, gives us some stability.

Well, the hills were made of people, so there you go. Not that different from the way it rolls now.

you know that dream isn't so far away if our population keeps growing the way it does. People carpet, that's what we're heading for. Crap in your face. You're adding to the problem all you parents... I guess if you're a parent you're already used to crap in the face right?

I think the dream was meant to be positive. Even if the Earth is lost, humanity will go on so long as we hold to each other. I believe it's a metaphor. People held together, learned to live with each other. It was a world without a world, where everyone prospered and depended on each other and came through for each other because that was all we had.

Yeah I think we got that, but everyone likes to make fun of optimism, because it's easy. And because I hate optimists, I just want to rip out their throats and feed their entrails to dingoes.

Well, the hills were made of people, so there you go. Not that different from the way it rolls now. So now, the question is which is worse: being at the foot of the hill, or being the hill itself?
