A bag of snakes, a burdened soul
A dream inside a clinic
A peasant boy the satchel stole
Not knowing what was in it.

Twin serpent eggs were scattered there
The shell shards on the ground
One hatched, another shattered there
Coatl stillborn found
3.
A hatchling not recovered yet
At large the newborn beast
Full grown when we discovered it
The saraph was released
4.
The serpent’s tail entwined round him
since first the world’s creation
took Earth and Sky, divided them
to seek their ruination
