I had an unsetting experience the other day. You know how sometimes, especially at night, you see a shadowy figure out of the corner of your eye and you turn to look and it's gone and you think to yourself "must have just been my brain playing tricks on me"
I had that experience the other night except it wasn't out of the corner of my eye. We were driving up to my house at night, but it was really well lit because our neighbours had all their lights on and we had out front light on. But there right next to the front corner of our house was this shadow. My first impression was that it was a person standing next to my house, in shadow, then it raised its... what I took to be arms but could have been wings, and it just plum disappeared. As I said I was looking right at it, it was a well-lit area, and there was no chance is was a person in shadow because a person wouldn't have looked like liquid shadow, because of all the lights. It looked like a person wearing a cloak of shadow, because when it raised its arms they weren't arm-shaped appendages but looked like the drapery of a cloak or something. Then, as I said, poof and it was gone. I couldn't speak for fifteen minutes I was so freaked out. But it didn't seem like anything that bad, in fact my first coherent thought after "crap that person just flew off!" was that it was trying to look in the window. Perhaps, rather than the angel of death idea that's been playing through my head, it was just a curious spectral visitor?
