I don't know if all of these are great survival tips; Ben tried the jumping thing once and nearly broke his legs. Perhaps the rule should be don't trust the umbrella; Mary Poppins was magical you fool!

What is philosophically valid may not always be the best survival advice. Generally speaking, if the jump requires a net at all it's probably not a good idea.
