I finally saw the Room last night. If you haven't seen it, you need to rectify that IMMEDIATELY. It is so bad, you can't take your eyes off of it!
Apparently, this guy didn't completely understand the difference in HD and 35mm, so he shot both...at the same time. He actually has a mount for both cameras to be side by side during all shots, so nothing is ever completely centered. This is just the tip of the iceberg of strange trivia about this film...there's a great interview with one of the actors on the podcast "How did this get made?". The guy shares all kinds of weird little tidbits about Tommy Wisseau.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go order my own copy from Amazon.

Jon and I got to see Tommy in person when he came to Red Vic Theater in SF to do a special showcasing of the movie. There's so many hilarious callbacks to this movie, much akin to Rocky Horror, that you just HAVE to see it live.
Unfortunately that theater closed a few months ago. For a while they were doing monthly showings of The Room.

The Plaza Theatre here in Atlanta does monthly screenings. I've heard about the footballs, etc...I MUST see this!
Have you seen it on DVD? There is a Q&A segment, where Tommy answers FAQs, but at points (just like in the movie) he overdubs his audio...in the middle of a paragraph. It's strange. It doesn't appear he changed what his lips are saying, but it is obviously a change in audio signifying sloppy ADR work. Within the movie, it's one thing....in the middle of this strange Q&A piece, where he is staring into the camera, and overdubs a sentence within a paragraph it just comes across as crazy.
Just adds to the mystery of this guy, I guess.

Is telling me to watch this your revenge for sitting through Night & Day, Wilson?
I like how this guy said "I'm going to make a really shitty movie about how awesome I am!" I get the feeling he's working through some stuff. Why can't he open his eyes?
It's like Phantom Menace, where they all just stand 2 feet from each other, then get up and walk to the edge of the frame and stop to look at something. And they're never talking to each other at all.

By the way, may I also recommend "I know who killed me". It's even better than Night and Day (if you can believe it!).

I like how the front door is so fake they have to awkwardly squeeze through it sideways because it either doesn't open fully or it opens to a stage light. And it apparently leads to the roof. This movie didn't have a continuity person, apparently.
