Who would you want to play you in the movie of your life? Who should do the soundtrack? Or write and direct?
I think I would want Jason Segal to play me, because I definitely think it should be a comedy. The soundtrack would include Angie Aparo, Driveby Truckers, Mumford & Sons and the Dropkick Murphys.
Who to direct? That's a tough one... Jim Jarmusch, maybe, like Coffee & Cigarettes Jarmusch, but I would want it to be lighter than most of his movies. Steve Martin could write it. No wait! Louis CK can write and direct. That dude totally gets it.
What about you guys?

I'm not sure about the other options just yet but I feel like my life could be easily represented by Ellen Page. Also Charlene Yi, except that I'm not Korean.

My story would require a director that understands how to translate an epic storyline to the screen. I'm thinking Uwe Boll.

They already made my life into a movie. Didn't you see the human centipede?
But seriously, you would need two actors for me - one for the young and thin me and one for the older uglier fatter me. I don't really know enough about actors to cast myself. And I would need a director who could make the mundane day to day somehow interesting to watch. As for the music, Jim Steinman no doubt.

The one part of my life that could easily be turned into a movie would be my college years, living in a student-dorm. The director would definitely be Terry Gilliam because that whole period of my life felt like a Gilliam movie. I believe Aaron Johnson 's about the age now that I was then and I think he could play a good chaotic 19 or 20 year old me kinda like he did in Kick-Ass but without the heroics and without the suit. The soundtrack would mostly be a weird mix of Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Goa-Trance-music, Flogging Molly and The Prodigy.

What is Goa-Trance-music? Not familiar with that, sounds interesting.
If they made a movie of Sean's college years I suppose I might be in it too. They would have to find someone fairly "hunky" to play me though. Who do the girls like nowadays?

Dammit, I was going to pick Ellen Page too, because I was totally Juno in high school, minus the irresponsible pregnancy. Then I'll have to go with Emmy Rossum because she does the wide-eyed thing which people say I do, and she has a great smile. Anyone who is me has to be a smiler. Also, she can sing like nobody's business and my life is definitely a musical. My director would have to be Guillermo Del Toro, because his movies already feel like they're taking place inside my head. He can co-write it with Joss Whedon, because he'll make me into a superhero and I could totally enjoy that movie, also he's done musicals before. Actually maybe he can co-direct it as well, why the hell not, it's my movie. I also feel an affinity with Terry Gilliam, but I want my movie to get finished so I'll have to turn him down. My life would certainly have a Brazil type of feeling. With all these influences it's clear my life is going to have some sort of tragically poignant ending. If they kill off Ben I'll be pretty mad at them.

I'll have to go the way of animation. My younger years would be Butthead. Older years, would be Homer.

Oh, I forgot animation! I'd totally be Daria! Awesome, we can do crossover movies! Who wants to be my Jane?

I'm not versed in the Daria cannon, so I'm likely out.
In animation, all our childhoods could be the old black and white Disney. Gotta love you some Steamboat Willie.
Heck, along those lines; here's one for Halloween...

Well to fill you in on the juicier details Jane is Daria's only friend but then Daria steals Jane's boyfriend. But they're still "freaking friends". Nice.

Daria kinda explains my friend Laura and I. Laura is a perfect Jane and she had a massive crush on my husband. Granted I only got to know her after I started dating Jon, so there was no "stealing" involved.

What is Goa-Trance-music? Not familiar with that, sounds interesting. This is some Goa Trance of what I was listening to back then... seems totally awkward now coming out of two little speakers from my computer when I used to play this stuff booming from the speakers in a bar where I worked. Good times, good times.... These days I guess I don't go out dancing anymore so I feel myself slipping towards middle of the road music. What have I become? I used to be cool....

I think it's better to listen to middle of the road music and be less cool than to pretend you're at a dance party when you're alone. Not that I'm against dancing by yourself in front of the mirror but you know what I'm saying.
I always liked Jane. And my cousin used to say that her brother Trent was the only animated character she'd ever wanted to fuck. Doesn't that make you think? Wait, no, think wasn't the right word, I meant walk out of the room and never speak with her again.

"Not that I'm against dancing by yourself in front of the mirror but you know what I'm saying."
It puts the lotion in the basket.
