Some Aussie filmmakers have thought up a novel concept; making a film based entirely on online donations and distributing it through torrent downloads for free. There are dvds available and it's being screened in Sydney at the moment, but they're happy for you to watch it for free. It's a found-footage horror film, which is a good move to make a cheap film without needing actual monsters or production values. I haven't watched it yet, but I thought I'd let all of you know because I love the idea and even just torrenting it is going to be a win for them because people will see numbers of downloads as popularity. Who knows where this will go?
