So, no Peter Vincent at all? And McLovin is Evil Ed? This looks like what I feared: A halfway decent vampire next door movie that stole the Fright Night idea and stripped out everything that made it Fright Night. This looks more like the trailer for Disturbia; the vampire angle looks irrelevant.

I noticed the Peter Vincent absence, as well. Somehow he makes a transition from "normal kid mode" to "all-out bad ass mode". I speculate that the Vincent character will be involved in that indirectly. I'm thinking along the lines of a web page or iphone app. published by Vincent.

I just remembered, David Tennant is playing Peter Vincent. So no iphone app for vampire killing needed. He must appear in the 2nd trailer.

David Tennant's a good choice. This may be another example of the trailer editor knowing better than the filmmaker. "No, let's leave Vincent out of the trailer - they ruined him in the movie".
I don't know, maybe it'll be good. I don't like the idea that they changed the concept of the Peter Vincent character so much that they were either afraid or found it unnecessary to include him in the trailer.

I'll definitely see it. I still haven't pulled myself out of my "anti-theater" phase. Though Don't be Afraid of the Dark has a damn good chance of getting me in the theater. This one will most likely be a Netflix rental for me.
Just for the record, my last three theater movies have been Paranormal Activity, Friday the 13th, and Revenge of the Sith. I only saw Paranormal Activity because I thought it was still a limited release.

I saw Paranormal Activity in the theatre and it was worth it to get my only kicks from that film; listening to all the people around me lose their asses at every little sight or sound. Sometimes it's good to be with people! I like to go to films late in their theatre season so there's less people to bug me.

Movies like Paranormal Activity only work in the theater, where you have that captive atmosphere. At home it's too easy to ignore the little screen and miss the nuances. That's why there's always a lot of positive hype for movies like that (just like Blair Witch), but by the time it's out on DVD there's a negative backlash of disappointment.

Who has a little screen? Not me, my screen is enormous, too big, I've had complaints!
