They're larger than life. If you want to make the suit realistic then you almost have to ditch the whole concept because you don't get it. Batman's the only superhero you can even try that with. Superman and Wonder Woman are ideals. You might as well try to make the American flag gritty and realistic, because that's what they represent.
In a more practical sense they do represent the time in which they were made because the simple use of color is a by-product of the fact that they were created as 4-color comics characters. But that's important too. Some things are classic for a reason.

I think the most important thing is having the suit looking good while doing superhero stuff, which this one doesn't. It's no good looking great in a still but as soon as she moves the whole thing looks stupid. I just looks like they've put no thought into it, and that makes me feel like they're not taking it seriously.

That's the funny part. The still they used to show that the suit was better made the suit and the girl look worse.

Take note here, fans. When you go around bitching and crying about something you haven't even seen, you might just kill it before it has a chance to get good. Apparently the original script was lacking and supposedly they weren't happy with the pilot, but with a project this high profile they could have put it in development and called for a new pilot if there was any positive feedback. It's a shame because it's something that could have been good if people had given it a chance.

You can't blame a crappy script on fans. This just sounds like something that wasn't thought through enough.

I think it's a blessing. If the script sucked and the fans loved the picture, the executives may have pushed it forward. Then what would we have but a shell of what could have been. When watching a show on TV, I'm mostly concerned with the story; not the babe. Why watch babes without stories on network TV in a skinamax world?
Now, maybe they will put forth some effort and get it right.

The problem is, we'll never know if they got it right because the outcry happened before anyone ever saw the show. And even if the pilot was weak, the show could have improved. And besides, the fans weren't crying because the story was bad, they were crying over the first picture of the costume.

Reportedly, this same actress (Adrianne Palicki?) is going to be Cover Girl in the G.I.Joe sequel.
By the way, that first pic of her in the shiny Wonder Woman costume looks like the pics of the models in the slutty halloween costumes they sell.

I agree, I'd add that it looked like it was CGI'ed on her. Especially if you compare it to the action shots that were released.

So you're saying she may not have had clothes on when they took that picture? Is it wrong that this fascinates me?

Wrong? No. But I like the way you're thinking. How they could have done it, I've got guesses but no real answers. Maybe green spandex body suit. Or they could have done an elaborate cut and paste. Or, it could be real cloths with digitally enhanced colors. All I can really say is that the colors seem too bright and non-realistic to my eye. I'm no expert and could be full of it. I'm just saying. Ya know?

Is green body paint an acceptable compromise?
