I watched Pontypool on Sean's recommendation and I really enjoyed it. It's certainly an example of how much you can do with limited resources and location, although some of the bits are telling, like when they're looking out a door at something horrible that we never get to see. But the idea of the zombies, how they zombify, is very different. There are some truly creepy moments as well, when they're doing nothing but listening to someone outside, or when the one character gets infected and just starts whistling... and the effects on the zombies are good. It's a small budget realistic feel zombie movie with a message about language and meaning, I liked it. Thanks Gilbert!

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I thought it was really inventive and I'd like to see more movies that are creative that way. I should read the book.

Pontypool Changes Everything by Tony Burgess. He wrote the screenplay himself in 2 days, apparently. They're also planning 2 sequels, but what will they do with it?

I don't know. The books are supposedly a trilogy, but they don't sound like they have anything to do with each other. And Pontypool Changes Everything is apparently the second book. It all sounds very interesting, though, so it should be fun. And it's the author doing the movies, which is nice.

Their loss. Make the trip to the video store if you have to, but this is one to watch.
