My nephew likes that runescape stuff. My brother's into the Sims. He writes these professions for it so you can download a mod and be a wizard or Napolean Dynamite or something in the game. I just like shooting things.

My wife was showing me the Wizard mod the other day. I wonder if it was the one your brother made.
Edit: And shooting things in the Sims would be awesome. It's about time Nick Alto got what's coming to him.

My kids enjoy the online "gateway" MMORPG Jr.'s that proliferate these days (AdventureQuest, Wizard101, Free Realms, Runescape) ... ostensibly free, but more fun with upgrades of course. "Come on Mom, it's only $5 a month!" My son Bryan successfully used that same sell-job on me for Runescape. I've tried playing some of the free online RPGs but I get bored pretty quickly.

I'm thinking of trading in my Wii for an old PS2, because there's no good games for Wii, all I use it for is step classes and I can walk up and down stairs without needing a $300 system. There's so many hundreds of cheap PS2 games out there, it'll be easy to find enough stuff to play.

There are a lot of good games for PS2 too, and they're all cheap. Bully was a good game. And there's a fun Evil Dead game that I never beat, but it has Bruce Campbell and Ted Raimi doing voices so it's really funny.

I saw that Evil Dead game, is it any good? Our local shop has this huge bin with just heaps of ps2 games for under $20, it's awesome. What's Bully about?
Also, when we were buying games, the shop attendant was trying really hard to make us buy this game... gods of war I think it was, based (loosely I think) on Greek mythology. He was waxing lyrical about killing all sorts of Greek monsters and how each one has its own cut scene after you kill it. He was so enthused about it. But I bought a scooby doo adventure game instead. He was trying to hard not to let his gamer geek out at me. he he he.

People say God of War is awesome, but I've never played it. Evil Dead was fun, it just got to a part I couldn't figure out how to beat.

Yeah, but God of War is new and expensive, whereas Scooby-Doo is old and cheap. I'll probably get it at some point to have a look. Now that you've said it is good.

God of War is on it's 2nd or 3rd sequel, so I'm sure the original is rather inexpensive (we are still talking PS2, correct?).

Yeah, I priced it, still not as cheap as second hand scoobie rip offs. I'm a student living off noodles remember?

I've been out of gaming for quite a while. I just assumed it was like the old days when they plummeted in price when the next one rolled off the line.

No, actually the old one is one the shelf next to the new one for about the same price. Ben didn't even realise they were different games until I pointed out the massive 2 on the cover. Maybe it has to do with the fact that ps2 is getting old and they don't have that many cool new games for it, so those that are they string out?

Have you checked Amazon? The US version shows the original for $13.84 and Part 2 for $19.82. The $13.84 is a sale price, so I don't know how long it will last or if it is available to all nations.

I think video games have to conform to PAL for Australia vs NTSC for the US.
