Ruin Christmas again? You've ruined Christmas before? Awesome, do tell?

Well, yes. I used to make statements about the lunacy of Christmas at family events. That combined with my liberal politics have caused several family squabbles during the holidays. I try to keep things under control these days.

Greg's back on the forum! It's a Christmas miracle!
I have a good feeling about this year. Things do seem calmer. Maybe the hooville hoos should try Christmas without the trappings more often.

I know, as soon as we start ruminating about the possibility of Greg's never finding out he pops up. Christmas is better when you just go with the flow and chillax.

Greg's back on the forum! It's a Christmas miracle! God bless us, every one! (in my best high pitched cockney accent, while limping).

As a kid I loved Xmas. I remember opening up my 6 Million Dollar Man toy, my batman and robin toys, and Transformers. Awww the good ol days. But as I've gotten older, (now I'm in my mid 30s). Nowadays, it seems like the expectations are soooooooo high during this time of year in regards to gifts, forced family gatherings and commercialized ideas of "cheer". It's too much. Maybe, it's the economy but things are really calm and subdued this year.

It was always commercial, but there wasn't as much expensive crap back then. I don't know how people with kids do it; we were much easier to please, I think.

Easier to please? I don't remember ever really being pleased with a Christmas present; it doesn't matter how good it is you can always imagine something better. There's always a sense of let-down, even if you get something awesome, just because of all that anticipation they drive into you as kids. Teach the kids it's not about the presents!!!!
